Flexible customization FAQ: MOQ, lead time & what to ask

Merchant checklist for MOQ, sample vs production cycles, POD, and multi-category coordination—use it with any flexible supplier.

Ask MOQ—and what happens after MOQ

Low first MOQ is only an entry ticket. Ask replenishment MOQ, price breaks, peak capacity, and queue rules. High replenishment MOQ kills the point of testing.

Multi-category sellers: confirm whether categories share one account and settlement or need separate agreements—that affects kill/replenish decisions.

Split lead time: production vs logistics

Factory “15 days” often excludes shipping, your revision days, and peak queues. Ask for P95 production from design approval plus default carrier ranges.

For Q4 gifts, request a peak capacity calendar or November orders silently slide into December.

Sampling: rounds, fees & golden sample

Clarify free sample rounds, paid reruns, digital-to-physical flow. Is the golden sample the production QC reference? Who holds signed standards?

Print categories: color and placement tolerance; gifts: engraving depth and drop-test packaging—attach specs to the PO.

Run your first loop with an FAQ mindset

Turn these questions into a checklist when using the Flecustom catalog or any flexible partner. Then list small and use 2–4 weeks of data to replenish or kill.
